REFUNDABLE BOOKINGS is an innovative solution that offers to Guests enhanced refund terms in case they cannot reach their destination for an incredibly broad range of circumstances outside of their control.
REFUNDABLE BOOKINGS frees from any risk the Host community, who are still recovering from the wave of cancellations following the various phases of lockdown: in the case the customers cannot attend, the Guest is refunded 100% of their payment while both Hosts and Social Projects receive their funds.
It’s a Win-Win-Win: in case of cancellation by the Guest, the social project that has been chosen at the time of booking will also receive its crowdfunding share.

The upgrade to a REFUNDABLE BOOKING is offered to Guests at checkout, allowing them to enhance their existing refund terms for a small fee.
If the Guests can’t attend their booking due to an unforeseen circumstance which is outside of their control, with REFUNDABLE BOOKING they can apply for a 100% refund.
Some circumstances which are included, but not limited to are:
- Government Travel Bans
- Scheduled Airline Failure
- Public Transport Failure
- Private Vehicle Failure
- Adverse Weather
- Illness (Physical & Mental)*
- Accidents or Injury*
- Pregnancy Complications*
- Pre-existing Medical Conditions
- Home Emergency (incl. Burglary, Fire, Flood)
- Relocated for Work
- Changes to Exam Dates
- Emergency Circumstances
* Also applicable to immediate family members, which includes Grandparents.
Guests apply for a refund using Protect Group’s simple, pre-populated online Refund Application Form. Knowing how stressful it can be when things go wrong, Guests can even apply for their refund up to 60 days after the supposed check-in date.
Protect Group will handle and respond to all Refund Applications within 48 hours and will administer the refunds directly: guests will have 100% of their money back within 4 days of application.
