Fair and sustainable travel tips from locals
Simone from Liguria
For many, Liguria is synonymous with the Cinque Terre. Unfortunately, many visitors stop at the Cinque Terre and in the summer it is almost hard to walk through their narrow alleys that run to the sea. That’s why I'd recommend an itinerary along the Italian Riviera di Levante that from the Ligurian side of Lunigiana, on the border with Tuscany, arrives up to Boccadasse, the popular little beach of the Genoese, touching 12 of the most beautiful villages in Liguria.
Emanuele from Venice
You might come to Venice for just a city break but you would miss out on some real hidden gems if you were not staying longer. One local tip I share iwth friends is: Go and discover the beaces of Venice. The beach "Lido" is only 10 minutes of vaporetto ( bus boat ) away from the center of Venice has 11 kilometers of wild, free and managed beaches, clean shallow waters, ideal for family and relaxed swimming.
Marta from Umbria
My family and I invite people to experience our way of life on our little agritourism farm in Umbria. A special event on our farm is the so-called “Saffron Days”. I think this is the most beautiful time of the year, when the saffron is in bloom and we can pick it together with our guests. But also in winter we can pick saffron and I find it interesting to compare young and old plants and to study the different stages of the saffron flowers.

What our Community thinks about Fairbnb.coop
“Giovanni was an amazing host! He showed me some of the nicest places in Venice close to his house. The house itself is located near ‘La zattere’, and it has one of the best views to the lagoon. Knowing that with my travel I support locals in Venice is the cherry on top of my holidays!“
“I loved the hospitality of Manuela and her positive energy! Her home is very charming and you can tell that she has an eye for details! We felt more than welcome from the very beginning and she was always there when we needed something. Thank you!“
“Returning to Florence means returning to the nest of Manuela and Paolo, a central apartment with excellent value for money. Also, this time we received a perfect welcome and the right advice to experience the city as locals. See you next time!“
“Martina’s accommodation is super nice and cozy and full of light. The location is very good: close to the railway station and very close to vaporetto station which makes it very easy to move around Venice. And last but not least, Martina was an amazing host and very kind. Thank you!“
