Meet Click&Boat, the boating platform of the future

We are getting a lot of enthusiastic support, not only from potential hosts or guests but also from a wide range of people and organisations who share our vision for a more sustainable tourism industry. This is quite encouraging, give that in the near future we may enable other platforms to use our crowdfunding tool to engage with their users and support local communities.

One of our most enthusiastic supporters is Click&Boat, a boat rental platform based in Paris. They have kindly offered to help us raise awareness on across their own community and they will also support us during our crowdfunding campaign. We reciprocate by presenting their platform here.

Click&Boat makes boating accessible to everyone

So let’s have look at their innovative approach to a market that has been relatively stagnant. Launched in late 2013, Click &Boat’s boat rental platform has rapidly become one of the greatest success stories of the European collaborative economy, making boating accessible to everyone.

Beside the fact that the company is based on a barge in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris – how cool is that? – we particularly like the option of ‘co-sailing’ (shared sailing): sailing with the owner of the boat, an arrangement that epitomises the main features of the sharing economy, such as easy access, low price and above all a localised and personalised experience. They also provide a great feature for ecologically conscious sailing enthusiasts who can find on the platform boats with solar panels. They can also rent a sailboat with a minimum carbon footprint, using an engine only to enter or leave the marina.

The company offers an alternative option to traditional yacht charters. Initially focusing on peer-to-peer boat rentals, the platform soon opened up to professional boat owners and yacht charter companies, using a user-friendly interface to match owners and renters.

A global community of sailing enthusiasts

In a few clicks you can rent a boat in some of the world’s top boating destinations, such as the Amalfi Coast, the Greek Islands, the French Riviera or even more exotic places such as the Seychelles or the Bahamas. Over the last six years, Click&Boat has brought together 300,000 sailing fans from all over the world, with over 30,000 boats listed in more than 50 countries.

Click&Boat enables boat owners to cover maintenance costs and sailing enthusiasts to find affordable boats anywhere around the world. Users can rent a boat with or without skipper, meaning that even sailing novices without a boating licence can use the platform. Sailing lovers rent a boat for various reasons, from crossing the Atlantic to propose to their significant other in a romantic setting such as the endless blue of the Aegean Sea. And then there is the inspiring story of François Gabart, holder of the world record for solo sailing around the world, who has become the firm’s ambassador and has even listed his own boat on the platform.

Like us at, Click&Boat is seeking to revolutionise its industry, changing the way people enjoy the sea and its wonders. And it does so while sharing the same values we wholeheartedly embrace: transparency, fairness and sustainability, and all that in a community-oriented spirit.

Well, it seems that this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship!
